A Sad, Sad Day!
Wow - I feel like I've lost one of my own since Ryan left today to join the service. But the kids have been extra cranky and of course asking for Ryan to do everything, and Sienna has been taking it especially hard. He was always her favorite companion. I just hope it doesn't get much worse before it gets better
And I told my husband today, if I feel this bad now, how terrible is it going to be when our kids grow up and move out - all five at practically the same time since they're just fifteen months apart. Well I just can't dwell on one more sad thing today!

Sis, it will get better (not necessarily easier, but it will get better).
I think that Mom already told you a semi-decent explanation for the kids: Ryan has a new job and Ryan had to go get training for his new job, but Ryan will visit as soon as he can.
Although we don't have as many young ones as you do, we still felt it when Ryan left us to stay with you. Our schedules had to be rearranged since Ryan wasn't here to watch the kids.
You will be fine!! It might take a while to adjust, but you will be fine. And, Ryan will do wonderfully at Basic and AIT! I think that we will all be impressed with him when he comes to visit after AIT!
