What's Up With the NOSE??

About a week ago Brandon, one of our identical boys, put a small piece of sylica gel in his nose from one of those annoying "do not eat" packages than come in seemingly everything.  One of those packages had busted open and he of course found the little piece of it that we missed.  Well for some dang reason that boy put the stuff in his nose and it swoll up - the stuff, not the nose - and he had a real problem getting it out of there, making his nose bleed a little in the process, and then hands me this piece of ick.  I don't know why in the world its now become a "thing" with him, but it seems like he's always messing with his nose now!

Tonight, after we put the quads down for bed, we hear some fussin then hollaring coming from the boys room.  Usually we give them a few minutes to work whatever it is out for themselves, but tonight they were getting pretty loud pretty fast so we go in to see what's up.  Brandon is OUT of his crib, standing in the middle of the floor crying "WOCK IN NOSE, WOCK IN NOSE" while Zachary, his twin, is sitting there grinning and pointing at him.  Felt his nose and sure enough he'd stuck something pretty big up there!  There's this episode of "Everybody Loves Raymond" where they talk about Ray stuffing cocoa puffs up his nose when he was a kid - they had to squeeze his nose to smash the puffs then blow to get them out of there.  Well what do you do with a HUGE ROCK????  This thing was so big that he got it in there but couldn't get it back out and the kid was freaking out!!

So the hubby runs to grab the tweezers and I get Brandon to lay down with his head back - idiot rock was so big I couldn't get the tweezers around it and here I am scared to death I'm gonna push a rock up into his brain   Whew - finally got it out and Brandon was so proud of the size of it that we may just have to keep it for him in his memory box - UGH!!!!!!!

I certainly hope he learns a lesson about sticking stuff in his nose. And you NEED to put the "wock" in a zip lock bag, label it with the date / Brandon's age, etc and put it in the memory box to remind him of HIS stunts when he has kids of his own!

Maybe it is a boy thing, my son did the same thing and he was about 8 years old.
